Exercise

Exercise is an extremely important component in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease.  Regular exercise can help maintain balance and mobility, improve mood, and help daily functioning.  Any type of exercise provides benefit and it is important that people with Parkinson’s disease engage in exercise that they find enjoyable.  Community exercise programs for those with PD are not only good exercise, but are a great way to become engaged, meet others, and have fun.   MAPS is currently working to develop more exercise programs in the community.
