MAPS provides programs and services that encourage healthy lifestyles for all those affected by Parkinson’s Disease. Maryland Association for Parkinson Support, Inc. (MAPS) is a growing grassroots non-profit organization dedicated to providing meaningful programs that will support the entire Parkinson’s disease (PD) community.

MAPS hosts and provides resources designed to link Parkinson’s patients and their care partners with important information and cutting-edge research about Parkinsonian disorders.

“The Rona Rosenbaum Living With Parkinson’s Symposium” will be October 20th. Dr. Kelly Mills, Director of the Johns Hopkins Movement Disorders Division, will be the keynote speaker.

The “Spotlight” series — set of virtual conversations spotlighting a specific Parkinson’s treatment, drug or device.

Close Contact® classes teach couples to collaborate on the movements of everyday life  and this helps to add awareness to their steps and hopefulness to their future.

We encourage you to stay up to date with the latest information on MAPS. Each newsletter is packed full of useful information.

Currently, MAPS offers exercise and support programs in 15 counties. Our goal is to offer these opportunities free of charge to Maryland PD residents in every county.

Enhanced support for people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) and their families includes providing education, support groups, counseling, caregiver support, rehabilitation programs, and assistive devices.

Our goal is to double the programming we currently offer in the next two years. Ideally, we’d like to offer a variety of exercise programs at additional times and at each location to provide flexibility to our exercise participants.

MAPS relies on donations to sustain and expand expert educational events for individuals affected by the disorder. These events provide crucial resources, information, and support to enhance the quality of life for those living with Parkinson’s.

You’re going to want to come to the Symposium next year! It was such a great experience. The sessions were informative, interesting and my wife enjoyed everything. Loved having the dogs there!

Was one of the most practical programs I’ve ever been to and it was also fun!

I haven’t attended the caregivers group since my husband passed away. However, when I did participate, the group was amazing. In fact it was invaluable in ever aspect! I made lasting friendships there.
